Buh-BANG! 2009

The mix is complete. Hooray. I made it just for you. I took the train across this town at the crack of noon today just to take a photo for the album art. I made it in Audacity, my new best software-friend.

The mix itself is dance-y, with some jumping, swaying and even writhing about on the floor. It does not have as many words as I generally like to use, but it does have many drums. I would describe it as dreamy. Listen for giggles, because they're in there.

The L

There is...

...the twelfth letter of the roman alphabet.
...the shape of a corner.
...the female in "Men in Black."
...the downshift in an automatic.
...the symbol for galactic longitude.
...the silent part of talking.
...the train that runs from Brooklyn to an imaginary land.

And then there is this mix CD, which has everything to do with all of these things.

strangelight

A new mix, inspired by the strangelight and subvisible quality of riding a bike down an unmarked road at midnight. When just enough moonlight filters through the trees to give the road ahead a vague unearthly glow. So I suspect this is best enjoyed (a) at night, (b) outside, and probably (c) alone. But that's in your hands now. Let me know what you think.

recorded to Side A of a 90 minute TDK cassette tape on the 18th of June, 2008

Fall 07, Bad Magicians

A mixtape I made for Slow West Vultures last year, and also this blog's namesake. Side A is grimmer and grimier, and the flip cools off. recorded to a maxwell 90 minute tape and reproduced here, clunky edits and all. Enjoy, I'll be back soon with more.
